Once the capital of one of the many successor kingdoms to the Flannish Empire, Hogenrood's many rulers often had a proclivity towards commissioning and collecting spectacular works of art. Others had a keen interest in history, whether the history of their own kingdom or dynasty, or that of faraway places. While the monarchs of old might be gone, the city retained these interests. As a result, Hogenrood has the largest number of museums of any of the Flannish Cities, and these institutions are always keen to gather more pieces for their collections - whether through means fair or foul.
