Ancestor Worship
Ancestor worship is a very personal creed and hard to make generalizations about. Its adherents hold that the Gods are fairly remote, but that worthy ancestors who have died and now live at the sides of the Gods can intercede with them on the behalf of mortals. Each adherent of the faith usually has a specific list of ancestors they can plead to depending on the circumstances. In Wildling cultures this might be a tribal culture hero of the distant past. In dwarven societies the most honored clan ancestors usually have large burial complexes where their descendants gather to honor them. And many descendants of old human noble families have secret shrines where they commune with their glorious noble forbearers, and where they plot in secret to return to power.
