Svardholm
Once the seat of one of the many sea raider kingdoms which arose after the fall of the Atalan Empire, Svardholm was long regarded as an ecological and cultural backwater, and it was primarily noteworthy for being in the vicinity of some of the most bountiful fishing grounds in the known world. But as the Flannish Cities grow, so does their hunger for resources - and the hinterlands of Svardholm have these in abundance. The vast forests provide lumber for construction and paper production, and the hills are rich in largely untapped veins of iron ore. As new money flows into the city, its government and citizens alike have striven to make Svardholm a center of culture and learning that they can be proud of - the shining star on the southern shores of Urhamma. And as such, the city is the usual starting point for expeditions into the southern polar regions of the world.
